FAQs

Do you take custom orders, or create mugs for special occasions?

I’m sorry, but I don’t accept custom orders or requests. The only pieces I have available will be in my shop updates. I work part time as a ceramic artist, and am the only maker in my studio - which includes not only the making process from start to finish but also running my website, taking photographs, running social media, and everything else that goes into a small business. While I truly appreciate your interest in my work I’m short on time so I choose to spend that time creating exactly what’s on my heart in each moment.

Can I reserve a piece from you that I’ve seen on Instagram?

Unfortunately, to keep things fair, I can’t reserve anything for you from my feed. I sell my work on a first come, first served basis through my shop updates. There are several reasons for this: first, some of the pieces I feature have already been sold, and the photograph was taken prior to sending it off. Other pieces are being submitted to juried shows, and it may be months before I hear back from the juror as to whether or not my work was accepted, so I have to hold onto all of those pieces indefinitely. Other work is being saved for my sales, which, as I mentioned, is first come, first served. Thank you for understanding!

I feel like I always miss your shop updates! How do I hear about them?

The best way to get ahold of my work is to sign up for my email list - I promise there is zero spam! I send an email 24-36 hours before each shop update (approximately every 30-60 days) letting you know the date and time that it will go live, and ALSO - with a 10% off coupon code for you to use on your purchase! So not only do you get first dibs on my work, but you get a little discount as well.

How much does your work cost?

Prices for my mugs generally range from $125-165. Some more fancy mugs will go for higher price points.

My jewelry bowls are $75 each.

Each of my pieces are functional art objects that take me many, many hours to complete. The price will range based on size, how many hours the piece took, the complexity of the design, an how much gold I’ve used, among other things. In addition to the other costs of my work, each mug is individually glazed using formulas that I’ve hand-mixed in my glaze studio specifically for each individual mug. While this is very time consuming and labor intensive I truly enjoy the process and feel that it adds depth and beauty to my finished product that commercial glazes can’t.

Can I microwave your work?

No, no, no, please no! Not because my work will suffer, but because it will mean you need a new microwave. Except in very rare instances all of my work uses premium, 22k gold luster accents, and metal and microwaves just don’t mix.

If you’re someone who needs to reheat their hot drinks (I TOTALLY FEEL YOU) I would recommend purchasing a mug warmer (like this). And no, this isn’t sponsored! I just love mine. Pick one that works for you and your decor. I have one on the worktable beside my potters wheel, and it’s been a lifesaver in keeping me from drinking lukewarm coffee and tea!

As an aside, I also highly recommend hand-washing my work because of its delicate nature.

I have a blog and would love to promote your work in exchange for a mug. Is that possible?

I’m sorry, but I don’t do blogger giveaways. I absolutely appreciate your interest in my work! But because I have such limited time to create and each piece takes me so long to make I prefer to keep my work to sell to my loyal customers. There is always a waiting list of people who would like to have one of my mugs and I just don’t have enough time to create work for all of them.

I purchased multiple pieces in your update. Can I combine shipping charges? Are there any other shipping details I should know?

I will do my best to combine shipping where possible, and if the total cost is more than $1 different from what you were charged for shipping I will refund you the overages. However, due to the fragile nature of my work sometimes it’s safer for the piece to be shipped alone, in which case I will label your boxes “box 1 of 2” and “box 2 of 2” etc so that you know another piece is coming if the don’t both arrive on the same day.

I ship work within 1-5 business days of your purchase, depending on how many pieces I have to wrap and ship at the time. Orders are processed in the order in which they were received, via USPS.

I do ship internationally, but buyers are responsible for any customs fees or import taxes which may apply.
